Why be obnoxious? Either answer the question or don't.
My earliest memory of being aware of an answered prayer is doing really well on a test that I had worked hard studying for. I had prayed that I would remember all I learned and I got an A.
When I was about seven, I was at my neighbors house and I was not feeling well. We all prayed for me to be healed and I was.
The next time I remember praying was to be saved when I was 14. The Holy Spirit was so real and tangible all I could do was weep for nearly a day. It was such a sweet feeling to me. (Everyone thought something was wrong becasue I couldn't stop crying.)
In high school when I was questioning the direction of a relationship. There were a lot of assumptions that we would get married after High School, and even though I cared a lot about him (thought I loved him at the time) I wondered if I wouldn't be selling myself short to get married so young. But I also knew that as long as he was part of my life, I would have a hard time letting go, so I prayed that if this wasn't the relationship for me, that God would somehow remove him from my life. Later that year, his family unexpectedly moved several states away. I was devistated, but I later learned he was not the person everyone thought he was and I still thank God that he made it so clear which path I was NOT supposed to take.
I guess some of us were trying to follow the golden rule: If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all!
6:56, how stupid to think God would answer your prayer so you could pass a test! I guess you have never had anything important happen in your life other than a test!
11:34 may need to seek counseling.
God gives us a brain so we can think and make our own choices. We are to ask in prayer for understanding and guidance. Not specific things to happen or not happen. To expect and look for answered prayers seems sad to me.
YOU ARE HATEFUL! I pray that God will soften your heart.
God cares about the desires of our hearts. He is our Father. He wants to meet our wants, needs and desires to glorify HIM.
If you have never felt the presence of the Lord before I am so sad for you. I pray that one day you have a relationship with Him and know how special you are. He wants to be involved in every area of your life.
There are other things I want to say to you (8:30) but, I am going to control my flesh and not lash out at you.
Hey 8:30pm - maybe you should have followed your own advice because apparently have nothing nice to say.
I am 6:56am. I said that was my EARLIEST awareness of feeling my prayers answered. Don't you DARE call God working my life as stupid. And you have NO idea what my life has been like.
While I agree that we should ask God for guidance and understanding, you better believe that I have begged for specific things in my life; healing my family members, healing ME, turning my husband's heart back to his family, and more. In some cases, my prayers were answered as I hoped, In others, I had to wait and am still waiting. But I think I would be missing out on a vital part of my relationship with God if I didn't speak directly about what was burdening me. I'm sorry that seems sad to you. Frankly, it seems sad to me that you do not have that relationship in place.
And one more thing, even if you don't have to sign your name, you are giving yourself a bad name and more importantly God knows what is in your heart.
hey guys, lighten up, love each other, ok? be a little giving when you read posts, it is hard to interpret the tones and meaning online. we have all had times of struggle, of being judgemental of being on the mountaintop, only to free fall into the valley, so lets use this site to build each other up, to stretch our boundaries, and to learn what God wants us to be and do.
11:54 - I hope you didn't mean it this way, but your post makes you sound materialistic. Do you really pray for things to just be given to you? If I walk you around my house, I'll show you the things that I've worked really hard for. You won't find anything that was an answered prayer.
I really don't think that 8:30 was intending to be hateful. But when I read the posted question, I thought I'd see more interesting answers than "I passed a test" or "I wasn't feeling well, then I felt better".
11:52, no one called you stupid and it was said they 'may need to seek counseling' I don't feel you should be offended by that.
I agree with 6:13 that I was looking for some good answers too! I also hope the last poster wasn't being materialistic too! That would be awful to think God gives all that you could want/ask for and for free?!?
I remember losing my grandma when I was younger and hating God bc he didn't heal her despite 100's of people praying for her. I think I was 12? I have never had a 'materialistic prayer' answered. I pray to God for knowledge, understanding, good health and forgiveness. I believe that is what we are to pray for also. And I believe he is granting me that each and every day.

All prayers are answered, it just may be "no" at the time sometimes.

a big piece of furniture fell on me when i was 7 and i cried to God. a neighbor came and pulled it off of me and i was not hurt!
When President Reagan was shot. Prayed with my mom when we saw it on tv.
that furniture story gave me chills, anyone got anymore of those type of stories?
The time I begged God to not let the Buck Mountain Boys hurt my Daddy.

For a blog full of "Christians", you ladies sure get quiet when the question doesn't fuel gossip or arguments.
I'm disappointed.
I agree with 6:23!

Lighten up?
Were you called "stupid" or told you needed "counceling"?
I think you would have the same reaction if someone posted something hateful like that to you.
The same God who moves mountains is the God I pray to.
In the Bible he says that he will give us houses and things we did not buy! I have seen that happen in my own life LOTS of times.
Just come over to my house and we will walk through and I can show you just how much God has answered prayers for things.
